The Lake

Dunn State Park features a beautiful loop trail around a small lake. The trail is flat and takes about a half hour to walk. It features a fitness circuit but those stops are not really maintained. This doesn’t detract from the overall experience however.

There is a small beach and non-motorized boats that can be rented in the summer.

We often take our dog but as we usually encounter other hikers we keep her on the leash.  We see lots of dogs on this trail, so be prepared if you have a dog that doesn’t interact well with others.

To access the park during peak season (summer, during the day), you’ll need to pay a $5 entrance fee. I’d highly recommend the season pass for $35 that will allow you to access at least three dozen parks within MA for the rest of the season.
