Fox Forest in Hillsborough, NH features a variety of moderate trails for walking and hiking. The Black Gum Swamp Loop Trail within Fox Forest is not particularly impressive or memorable, but it makes for a good outing nevertheless.

This bicycle trail is just over 3 miles in length and hugs the Connecticut River. It is great for walking and running as well. It is flat and well maintained. The scenery is nice also as you will pass a nice bridge and plentiful views of the river. Surprisingly, we have never seen this path get too busy, but there are usually a few people on it each time we visit.

The Mass Central Rail Trail offers many sections of trails throughout central Massachusetts. Many of these are great for walking, running, walking your dog, going for a stroll with baby in tow, and cross-country skiing.

There is something here both for people looking for an easy walk or a bit of a tougher climb. Since it is a wildlife sanctuary, you also have the opportunity to spot a variety of animals if you keep your eyes open.
