Groton Hurd Property Trail – Groton MA
The Hurd property trail offers a 2-3 mile hike with panoramas of picturesque horse farms. The Groton area is rich with hiking trails, and this is one of our favorites. It has some good views deeper along the trail and a unique area set aside for "peaceful thought" near the beginning.

Chesterfield Gorge offers a 3/4 mile hike with fantastic views. It isn't the longest hike, but there are great views of the gorge nearly the entire way. This one isn't recommended if you have difficulty navigating hilly terrain, but if that isn't an issue then this one is terrific if you want a short but rewarding hike - with or without the kids.

Goose Pond Loop Trail is located in the scenic town of Keene, New Hampshire. This is a scenic 2 mile hike offering fantastic views of Goose Pond. Parking is available at the start of the trail which leads up into the woods. It isn't too long before you reach the pond itself which is calm and has a great New England feel to it. The rest of the hike is a mostly flat loop around the pond.

Shieling Forest is tucked away in Peterborough New Hampshire and offers 2-3 miles of wooded hiking. There are many trails to choose from, most of which offer easy to moderate hiking. Couple a nice walk in Shieling Forest with lunch in the accommodating town of Peterborough to make for a great day.
